Varietex wasn't born in an office. It was born listening to a police officer recount an operation he'd never dared to share.
That story, and many more, weren't in any book. That's how it all began.
Today, we are the first publishing house in Spain dedicated exclusively to publishing real-life accounts from those who have served : police officers, civil guards, health workers, military personnel, firefighters, emergency technicians, and opposition candidates.
We don't publish fiction. We publish the truth.

Our history (2019–present)

In 2019, Héctor Ortega founded Varietex with a clear idea: to give a voice to those who have always served in silence.
What began as a personal project is now an independent publishing house with:

  • More than 30 real books published
  • Weekly publications
  • A community of more than 18,000 people
  • Presence in Spain, the United States, and Latin America

Our team

Varietex is made up of an editorial team committed to truth and memory:

  • Editors and proofreaders
  • Designers and layout artists
  • Editorial coordinators
  • Royal authors
  • Civil and professional collaborators

Today, we're more than 10 active members and a network of more than 20 authors . And we're still growing.

Our purpose

We want Varietex to be more than a publishing house.
We want to be an institutional memory in the form of a book. A narrative, human, living archive.
Because if it is not counted, it is lost.
And if it is written with respect, it remains.
